Our History

On October 15, 1953, community leaders in Henry County petitioned to incorporate our natural gas utility district under the provisions of ‘The Utility District Act of 1937’.

On July 10, 1958, at 115 Broadway, New York, New York, the District’s Board of Commissioners held a special called meeting to adopt the resolution authorizing the issuance of revenue bonds for the purpose of financing the cost of acquisition, construction, and development for our natural gas distribution system.  Although our District was petitioned on October 15,1953, it was on this day, July 10, 1958, that the financing was obtained to begin the construction which led to our present-day natural gas distribution system.

Today, we proudly serve more than 8,000 customers over 650+ miles. Many thanks to the original board members, and the supporting citizens of Henry County, Tennessee, who took the initiative, and had the foresight, to develop our natural gas utility district.  It is our continued pleasure to serve our community with safe, affordable, reliable, and efficient natural gas.
